I have a few questions I’d like to ask Dr. Blum:

1) Who was involved in making the revisions? (The chief editors, section editors, and/or the translators themselves?)

2) How were the decisions made? (How did they decide what to change, why did they change it, and for what reason?)

I, too, am a (H)CSB enthusiastic convert. However, I (like others) do refer back often to the ESV.

I have purchased the CSB2e from WordSearch and the changes, for the most part, have made this very good translation even better.

The only change they didn’t make that I wished they would have is the phrase “[This is] the Lord’s declaration.” I think most of us would prefer the phrase “Declares the Lord.” Much more forceful. This would be a question that I would ask of Mr. Blum.

Any plans for a compact/regular-sized parallel ESV/CSB bible?

I also found it interesting that the lack of communication from the HCSB team via internet has been lacking. What gives? Everyone wants to know.

while jogging today I thought of another question. Do they have any plans to put together an HCSB Blog, much like ESV and NLT have done? HCSB has a good loyal following but we feel abandoned by them. It would be great to be able to correspond with them in a similar way.

I have a question about the current text available via wordsearchbible.com. Is that the FINAL text, or are there still tweaks being made. Also when can we expect the updated text to appear on sites such as biblegateway.com?

Will, if you are going to ask about the upcoming HCSB study bible, can also ask if it will be available on line like the ESV & NLT study bibles are? If so can we expect to have similar features such as the ability to write notes on various verses, highlight, hyper-links, etc.

Joe: As far as I understand, nothing will be officially released until the study Bible in September/October…but I’ll double-check. Regarding the use of “happy” in Psalm 1, I think a good question would be about the consistency of using happy versus blessed. There aren’t too many other translation choices (the NLT goes with, “Oh, the joys”).

Robert: I will absolutely ask about tongues.

Barry: Yes, it is a study Bible. I’ll see if I can dig up any new features to be added to the study Bible.

I’m sure they know how many people dislike how “happy” is used in Psalm 1:1 for example. What is their reasoning for going with “happy” as apposed to what other translations render?

I understand this to be a study bible, correct Will? The only thing I did not like about the ESV Study Bible is that they did not put in a concordance, and no commentary. I guess we were really spoiled by the NASB MacArthur Study Bible and it’s intensive use of study materials.

I would really appreciated if you would ask why they have chosen not to add any footnotes regarding their usage of [other] languages in 1 Corinthians 12-14? The TNIV and NLT have chosen to use the word “tongues”, with footnotes (i.e. other language). I don’t mind the way they have it just a bit baffled as to why they have chosen not to add any footnotes. Charismatic community is just wondering.

CSB may already have a copyright by another company, I notice that they do have as a copyright “Holman CSB & HCSB”

We know the Study Bible is due to be released around October, any regular editions before then(when?) would be welcome news.
