Three Reasons Practical Ministry Will Dominate This Blog

[This is the second in a series of three posts about the issues that I intend to write about on this blog.]

1. wrpc_narthex2Ministry is what I do. As Director for Small Group Discipleship at Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church, the practical application of biblical truth to the Church is a very significant part of my vocation. Just as a songwriter may blog about writing songs, or an economist may blog about economic principles and realities, so I intend to let my vocation spill over into my hobby. (In fact, the line between vocation and hobby may be very blurred indeed.)

2. Ministry is applied theology. Theology is important to me and to the life of the Church. Ministry is in many ways the place where theology and practice intersect, both inside the Church and outside the Church. So I want to let this blog be a place to write about how to live out theology in the world.

3. Ministry is bigger than my tradition. The Church applies theology in some very diverse ways. I hope for this blog to be a place where we can have discussions of what theology looks like in practice so that I can let my own tradition be informed by the practice of others. Semper Reformanda!
