Rick Mansfield Surveys Some Changes in the New HCSB

Rick Mansfield has the electronic version of the HCSB which reflects some of the changes we will see in the new HCSB coming out next year in print. He has written about some of the changes on his blog. The most significant change, of course, being the increase of the use of Yahweh for the divine name of God (where most translations have LORD) from 75 times to over 500 times, which Dr. Blum had previously confirmed would be happening.

I believe we may see some more changes when the print edition comes out next year. What changes do you think need to be made in the new print edition?

I think the e-version of the HCSB received new updates in Nov-17.
Right click on your HCSB/Properties/click on either New or Old Testament. to check the current version.

Then run the update.

Check the version again.

Do we know anything about the status of the “in Christ” passages in Ephesians? The initial updates I saw had a tendency to obscure this verbal formula, which is very much a technical one for Paul, and arguably constitutes the theme of Ephesians.

Tim, I’ve been trying to get an answer for you, but without much success right now. I’ll let you know if/when I find out something.
