"Luther Before the Diet of Worms." Photogravure based on the painting by Anton von Werner (1843–1915)
Happy Reformation Sunday! As a way to celebrate the start of the Protestant Reformation I thought it would be a good idea to ask a few Luther-related questions.
1. How different might the world be today had Luther not had the courage to attempt reform?
2. How have we used Luther as a Medieval lens through which to read Scripture instead of examining Scripture in its own first century Jewish context?
3. Is there a need for a Luther-like prophetic figure today to call the Protestant Church to reform? If so, in what ways is reform needed?
