Last night was the first night of the Transformation 09 Conference at Perimeter Church in Atlanta. Judging by last night, this will prove to be a very challenging and helpful 3 days.
Several people made some opening remarks last night. Paul Tripp told a story that probably resonates with all parents about how his son used to open gifts at Christmas, and then he would just play with the box.
Then he reminded us that we have been given the greatest gift in the world, a gift that is beautiful in every aspect. But he pointed this out:
In our Sunday schools, we train our children to play with the box.
Do we value our ministries and the packaging of Christianity more than the life-transforming gospel itself?
